Posting Date is Wrong in Open Statement
Problem (ISSUE-006)
Incorrect posting date in an open statement. This can cause reporting discrepancies and mismatches between operational dates and accounting records.
Symptoms
- The posting date on an open statement does not match the actual business or transaction date.
- Reports or financial summaries show sales on the wrong date.
- Auditors or finance users report inconsistencies between statements and other source documents.
Solution
- In the Object Designer, open the table: Statement.
- Update the posting date to the correct one.
- Notify the auditor to refresh the page (⚠️ do not delete the statement).
Important
Do NOT delete the statement - only update the posting date. Notify the auditor to refresh their view after the change.
Prevention
- Ensure that statement dates are reviewed and confirmed before posting.
- Train users to verify the posting date when creating or editing statements, especially around period-end.
- Coordinate with auditors and finance teams to promptly correct any detected date issues before closing periods.
