ERR Insert for TRANS (SERVER NAME) to BC22 Job in LS Data Director

Problem (ISSUE-011)

The LS Data Director job for TRANS (SERVER NAME) → BC22 fails with an ERR Insert message.

Cause

This typically happens when:

  • The SQL Server (SQL22) service is unresponsive
  • The backup directory is full

Symptoms

  • LS Data Director job for TRANS (SERVER NAME) → BC22 shows ERR Insert status.
  • Data is not being replicated from the source server to BC22 as expected.
  • Monitoring dashboards or logs show repeated failures for this specific job.

Solution

Step 1: Restart the SQL Server Service (SQL22)

  1. Open Services (press Win + R, type services.msc).
  2. Locate SQL Server (SQL22).
  3. Right-click → Restart.

Step 2: Clean Up Old Backups

  1. Navigate to the backup path:

    D:\Backup\Al-Amer_Market Dropbox\Ibrahim AL-Amer\Apps\SQL Backup Master\Contabo\DB
  2. Delete older backup files, keeping only two of each (for safety and recovery purposes).

Step 3: Re-run the LS Data Director Job

After cleanup, re-run the LS Data Director job to confirm successful synchronization.

Backup Management

Keeping the backup folder light helps prevent disk-space errors and improves replication job performance. Always keep at least two recent backups for safety.

Backup Deletion

Be careful when deleting backups. Ensure you keep at least two recent backups for recovery purposes.
